Results That Cannot Be Edited

Restriction: This topic applies to Windows environments only.

SQLWizard allows you to use the Result window to insert, update, and delete records after you run a query. However, some query results cannot be updated. For example, the query result for a query that includes a join, an ORDER BY clause, a GROUP BY clause, computed columns, or UNIONS is not updatable.

If you use the Query Design window to create a query that cannot be updated, the Allow Editing command on the Query menu is disabled before you run the query. In addition, the Allow Editing command on the Record menu in the Result window is disabled after you run the query.
