An alias is not dropped until you exit the Alter Table dialog box. Before you exit this window, be sure you have made all appropriate changes and wish to save the table specifications.
To drop an alias:
- Display the Alter Table dialog box for the table on which the alias is defined.
- Click the Options button from the Aliases group box to display the Table Options dialog box.
- Highlight an alias in the Aliases group box and click the Drop button. The Table Options dialog box displays the alias with a - sign preceding it to indicate that it will be dropped. Only aliases created in the same location as the table they are associated with will appear in the Aliases group box.
Note:
If you mark an alias name and then realize you want to keep it, before exiting the Create/Alter Table dialog box, double click the name of the alias to display the Drop Alias dialog box. Then click the Undo button. The - sign will be removed, and the original alias will remain intact.
- Click OK from the Table Options dialog box and click OK in the Alter Table dialog box to drop the alias.
- Click OK to confirm altering the table.
