The Security Tab

Restriction: This topic applies to Windows environments only.

The Security tab allows you to set your security options. The CLIENT SECURITY option is important if you want to turn security on for your copy of the XDB Server.

Only if security is on for the XDB Server will password security be fully enforced. The global security options are only available with XDB Server 4.0 or later.

If security is on at the XDB Server you will be accessing, you must check the CLIENT SECURITY check box. If security at the XDB Server is off, you can check or not check this box as desired. Using CLIENT SECURITY when security is not required by the XDB Server will provide password security at your workstation.

The passwords created or modified by users must meet the criteria for the current password enforcement level.
