Catalog Browser Overview

Restriction: This topic applies to Windows environments only.

The Catalog Browser graphically represents XDB Server database objects. In Migrate, you use the Catalog Browser to select the table(s) you want to copy, or to recall a query that you have created and saved with a data management tool such as SQLWizard.

The Catalog Browser shows you all of the locations that are known to the server to which you are connected (even locations that are on another server or on a mainframe). Database objects, such as locations, tables and indexes, are graphically represented in a hierarchical structure. Using the + and - buttons, you can expand and collapse the hierarchy to show just the elements you want to work with.

Note:

If you don't see the location that you want to migrate tables to or from, use Options to verify that you are connected to the correct server. If your server connection is correct, verify that the locations are listed in the server's SYSIBM.SYSLOCATIONS table. Your server must have access to both the source and target locations. See your XDB Server Administration Guide or consult your XDB Server Administrator for information about setting up server-to-server communications.
