Restriction: This topic applies to Windows environments only.
Because of the security imposed by DB2 and the host system, you must implement the following security measures on your network.
- On the machine where XDB Link is installed, create a user ID and password for each user that will access DB2 using XDB Link. (Gateway configuration only.)
- On the machine where XDB Link is installed, set the XDB Server Security option using the XDB Server Configuration Utility (Gateway configuration only). For specific procedures, see the SQL Option Server Administration Guide.
- On each client machine that will access DB2 though XDB Link, enable the XDB Client Security feature.
