To Install the Audit Event Consolidator as a Service (Windows only) (deprecated)

Note: Audit Manager is deprecated and provided for backward compatibility only. We recommend that you use syslog events instead. See Enterprise Server Auditing for more information.

You use the mfauditmgr command line utility to perform this.

Syntax:

mfauditmgr -i [-n name] [-c cfg-file]

Parameters:

-n name The name of the audit event consolidator instance. This is the name that applications will use to communicate with the audit event consolidator instance. If this option is not specified, the machine name will be used.
-i Install the audit event consolidator as a service.
-c cfg-file Specifies the name of the configuration file that is to be used for defining which emitters are to be enabled etc.

If no configuration file is specified, the audit event consolidator instance will be configured as follows:

  • The AUDITFILE emitter will be the only emitter enabled, and its properties will be set to their default values. For details, see AUDITFILE Emitter Properties.
.

Comments:

When starting the service, the -n and -c options may also be specified in the service's Start Parameters entry field (right-click on the Micro Focus Audit Manager service in the Services Window, and select Properties to bring up the properties dialog. Enter the command-line options in the Start Parameters field and click on the Start button.
