To set a run-time environment variable

Restriction: This topic applies to Windows environments (local development) only.
  1. From the Application Explorer view, right-click a Web service; then select Web Service Properties.
  2. Check Enable Enterprise Server run-time environment.
  3. Click Configure Enterprise Server Run-time Environment.
  4. Expand Run-time Configuration; then click Environment Variables.
  5. Click Add.
  6. In the Variable field, type the name of the variable.
  7. In the Value field, type the value for the variable.
  8. Click OK. This populates the environment variables list and sets the environment variable for Enterprise Server to use at runtime for the selected service only.
  9. Click OK to close the Enterprise Server Run-time Configuration dialog box.
