Log Requirements

The amount of space required by location logs depends on several factors, including:

1. Frequency of Location Backups.

   If you backup your locations (and the location log files) frequently, the location log will contain fewer entries, and will therefore require less space.

2. Frequency and Number of Table Inserts, Updates, Deletes.

   The log file stores the after image and the before images of all records changed by a table transaction. If changes occur often, or changes involve many records, the log file will be large.
