Setting Up Inbound Mapping

Restriction: This topic applies to Windows environments only.

In order to use inbound mapping, you must update system tables and privileges on each remote XDB Server that will perform the inbound mapping. If server trusting is not being used, nothing needs to be done on the servers sending requests.

The instructions in each topic discuss inbound mapping on one XDB Server. If you wish to have a fully distributed environment, complete the Remote Server instructions on each XDB Server that will perform inbound mapping.

All of the following instructions assume that security is turned on (through the XDB Server Configuration Utility) for both the primary and remote XDB Servers.

The instructions in this topic assume you have already setup server-to-server connectivity before setting up inbound mapping. These instructions also assume you will not be setting up outbound mapping on the primary server.
