Setting up Outbound Mapping

Restriction: This topic applies to Windows environments only.

In order to use outbound mapping, you must update system tables on the primary XDB Server which will perform the outbound mapping. On the remote XDB Server, you must set up the appropriate AuthIDs, mappings and privileges.

The instructions in each topic discuss outbound mapping on one XDB Server. If you wish to have a fully distributed environment, complete the Primary Server instructions on each XDB Server that will perform outbound mapping. Complete the Remote Server instructions on each XDB Server which will accept mapped AuthIDs.

All of the following instructions assume that security is turned on (through the XDB Server Configuration Utility) for both the Primary and Remote XDB Servers.

The instructions in this topic are written as if you have already set up server-to-server connectivity before setting up outbound mapping. These instructions also assume you will not be setting up inbound mapping on the remote server.
