You use theSQL Wizard (Windows) or
Interactive SQL Utility (UNIX) to add new AuthIDs and GroupIDs to the system, and modify existing information, including passwords The information is stored in the system catalog, as described below. The
SQL Wizard (Windows) or
Interactive SQL Utility (UNIX) can also be used to make an AuthID a member of a group, so that the AuthID has the privileges of the group.
Note: It is possible to temporarily deny an AuthID access to the system by turning off access authority through the
SQL Wizard (Windows) or
Interactive SQL Utility (UNIX) (or by editing the appropriate row of the SYSXDB.SYSACFUSERS table). This method keeps all privileges and memberships intact. See the chapter
