The Micro Focus Directory Server

The Micro Focus Directory Server (MFDS) is a process that maintains the Enterprise Server operating information. It maintains information on the following components:

When you deploy a COBOL application as a service using the Interface Mapping Toolkit, much of the operating information maintained on the MF Directory Server is created automatically. An administrator can edit this information to respond to changing needs.

By default the Directory Server runs on the same machine as your enterprise server instances.

In addition to maintaining information on enterprise server instances, the Directory Server can also store information about CCI servers. These are servers that provide services using the Micro Focus Common Communication Interface (CCI), using the Directory Server as a naming server instead of registering with a CCITCP2 process. CCI servers are supported for backward compatibility:
