Edit Masks

Restriction: This topic applies only when the AppMaster Builder AddPack has been installed, and applies only to Windows platforms.

AMB verifies an edit mask depending on whether the field has optional characters in an edit mask, as follows:

Optional Mask Chars	Verification
No	Left to right scan
Yes, on the left	Left to right scan
Yes, on the right	Right to left scan

To reverse commas and decimal points in the output picture of numeric fields, such as ZZ.ZZZ.ZZ9,99, modify the CNTL(APSPROJ) file in one of the following ways, and then compile the screen and program:

Code the following assignment statements in the APSPROJ control file, where membername is the USERMACS member name that contains the $TP-SPECIAL-NAMES rule definition. AMB includes the member for you. The $TP-SPECIAL-NAMES rule generates the DECIMAL-POINT-IS-COMMA statement:

Then, copy TPSPEC from &SSMAPS..CNTL to &SSMDSN..USERMACS. Modify the $TP-SPECIAL-NAMES rule as desired to generate statements in the SPECIAL-NAMES paragraph.
Code the following statement in the APSPROJ control file. The DC target epilogue rule generates the DECIMAL-POINT-IS-COMMA statement.
