Defining Program and Data Locations in the Region Startup File

This section describes how to define the locations in the region startup file for the programs and data that your CICS and JES applications use.

Tip: Use the Region Startup File editor from the Enterprise Server for .NET user interface to define locations in a region startup file.

For a simple system where files are accessed only on the machine on which they reside, you can configure a relative or absolute path to a location in the local machine's file system.

For systems where files are used across different machines, such as in a cluster environment, you can configure a URL to define the locations.

Note: When multiple locations are defined, the order in which they appear indicates the order that will be used at run-time to locate files.
