Region Databases

A region database maintains the operating details for the region.

Each region in your installation has a corresponding Microsoft SQL Server or Server Express database. That is, a separate database is created for each region that you configure. Within your installation, these databases can run either in the same SQL Server instance, or on a scaled-out installation, in different SQL Server instances running on different machines.
