To edit DBD, MFS and PSB files

To edit a .dbd, .mfs, or a .psb file in the basic editor in the IDE:

  1. Right-click the file in COBOL Explorer and click Open With and click DBD Editor, MFS Editor, or PSB Editor, respectively.

    The IDE editors provide a basic level of colorization for items such as reserved words and comments. It does not support background parsing or syntax checking.

Besides using the editor in the IDE, you can edit database date for .dbd and .psb files in the Micro Focus Data Files utility as follows:

  1. Right-click the file in COBOL Explorer and click Open With > IMS Database Editor.

    This starts the Data File Tools utility that enables you to edit the file.
