To create a workgroup

Restriction: This topic applies only when the AppMaster Builder AddPack has been installed, and applies only to Windows platforms.
  1. Using a text editor, create a file in a workgroup folder location. This can be any folder you designate, and is the folder users select to specify a workgroup for a project. Give the file a name of your choice, but specify no file extension.
  2. At the top of the file, starting in column 1, type the name of an AMB library type. AMB library type names are the same names used for project subdirectories, plus APSMACS and CNTL.
  3. On the line directly beneath the AMB library type name, type the full path to a directory that contains the type of objects specified by the library type. The directory can be a local, LAN, or PDS location.
  4. On the next line, type the full path to another directory that contains the type of objects specified by the library type. (optional)
  5. Continue adding directories in the same manner until you have listed all locations you want to include in the workgroup for the library type.
Important: If you want to include both PC (local and LAN) and mainframe locations for a single library type, list all PC locations first, followed by the mainframe locations. You can specify up to nine PC locations and nine mainframe locations for each library type.
  6. Add additional library types and locations as necessary, placing the next library type designation on the line directly below the last location specified for the previous library type.
Note: When you have a COBOL Project directory specified in your AppMaster Builder Preferences, you can include the $COBOLPROJECT$ variable as a location for the COPYLIB library type. $COBOLPROJECT$ resolves to the defined COBOL Project directory. You can further qualify $COBOLPROJECT$ by adding one or more subdirectories separated by a forward slash (/). For example, $COBOLPROJECT$/copylib.
  7. When you have added all of the library types and locations you require, save the file and exit the text editor.

Example workgroup file:
