OFFSETVALUE Function

Purpose

Converts an integer to an offset.

Syntax

OFFSETVALUE(x)

Parameters

x is an expression. x must be specified as OFFSET.

must have a computational type and is converted to FIXED BINARY(31,0).

Description

OFFSETVALUE returns an offset value that is the converted value of x.

OFFSETVALUE can be applied to a restricted expression when PL/I required a (possibly) signed constant. It can also be used to convert locator data to and from REAL FIXED BINARY (p,0) data types.
