iFileshare Restrictions

Attention: This feature is in Early Adopter Product (EAP) release status. We intend to provide the finalized feature in a future release. Please contact Micro Focus SupportLine if you require further clarification.

The CICS Web Services feature is EAP for development and testing usage. It should not be used for production deployment in this product release

The following list contains the restrictions in place for iFileshare:

  • To use iFileshare, advanced logging must be enabled; you cannot use basic Fileshare logging.
  • The database reference file (dbase.ref) is only available for the purposes of the advanced recovery logging.
  • You cannot use a Fileshare server configuration file (FS.cfg) with iFileshare.
  • A high availability group must not contain a mixture of 32-bit and 64-bit servers; they must all be the same bitism.
  • A server failure within a high availability group requires manual intervention, and a restart of the group, before it can be added back into the group.
  • FSVIEW functions support is limited to the following commands:
    • Server Get
    • Status Get
    • Users Get
    • Files Get
    • Trace Toggle
    • File Get-Users
    • File Get-Locks
    • User Get-Files
  • Tracing can only be enabled using the command line FSVIEW function or through iFSVIEW (trace toggle).
