IMS programs that make use of checkpoint/restart, for example the Batch Backout functionality can use the IMSLOGR DD statement to define the input log file to use.
You can use this in the JCL to avoid dataset contention with other concurrent checkpoint/restart programs. This log file is used to store checkpoint IDs, GSAM reposition information and application save areas during extended checkpoint processing.
