Make the User an MSS System Administrator

  1. In the left pane, open your new connection and the folder inside it, then select the CN=Users folder, which contains your domain's users.
  2. In the right pane, select the user you want to modify (CN=ES-Admin).
  3. Choose Action > Properties.
  4. Widen the Attribute column so you can read the full name of each attribute. Scroll down to find the microfocus-MFDS-User-DefaultGroup attribute and double-click it.
  5. Set the attribute's value to SYSADM. This sets the MSS default group for the user; the SYSADM group has permission to start ES and so forth in the default ES LDAP security configuration. Click OK and close the Properties window.
