Classic Data File Tools IDE
The Classic Data File Tools IDE runs on 32-bit Windows only. However, the DFCONV utility and the IMS Database loader, which both use record and segment layout files, can run on Windows, UNIX, and Linux 32-bit or 64-bit.
Open PL/I Support
When converting a record layout or segment layout file from one character set to another, the DFCONV utility and the IMS Database loader could cause corruption if the file contains Open PL/I to COBOL data item type mappings for CHAR VARYING, BIT, WIDECHAR, or WIDECHAR VARYING.
National Data Items
National data items are not supported in record or segment layouts.
