Compatibility and Upgrades

There are significant structural changes to Application Worklflow Manager (AWM) and to z/Server in Enterprise Developer 2.3.

As a result, AWM in Enterprise Developer 2.3 does not reliably support earlier versions of z/Server. If you have an existing installation of z/Server, Micro Focus recommends that you upgrade it to z/Server 2.3 (V2R3) to ensure all functionality works as expected.

Note:

It is possible to connect Enterprise Developer 2.3 to an earlier z/Server but some features of AWM might not work as expected. When connecting to an earlier z/Server, in the connection settings you must specify an additional port that points to an MFA server installation on the mainframe.
Connections from earlier versions of Enterprise Developer to z/Server 2.3 should work correctly.
