If security is on, when you attempt to access the XDB Server or a local XDB Server, most programs will ask you to log on to the system. Usually you will see a window requesting a user name (or AuthID), followed by a password. When writing your own programs you can modify the log on procedure to meet your needs. This is described in the documentation for the language interface you are using.
