ODBC Data Source Administrator

Note: You must be logged into Windows as an administrator to create System DSNs.

You can use the ODBC Data Source Administrator to create a 32-bit or a 64-bit data source name (DSN) for connecting to a database:

  1. From your desktop, click Start > All Programs > Micro Focus Enterprise Server> Data Tools > Data Connections > ODBC Data Source Administrator > (32-bit) or (64-bit).
Note: If using Windows 8 or later, press the Windows key on your keyboard and type ODBC Data; then select ODBC Data Sources (32-bit) or (64-bit).
  2. In the ODBC Data Source Administrator, click the User DSN or System DSN tab.
  3. Click Add.
  4. On the Name list, select a database type; then click Finish.

This launches the Microsoft Create a New Data Source wizard.

  5. Complete the fields as appropriate; then click OK to close the ODBC Data Source Administrator.
