To create an interface field
- From the
Interface Mapper, drag a field from the
COBOL Entry Point,
Screen,
Input Commarea, or
Output Commarea pane and drop it in the
Interface Fields pane.
Note:
- Interface fields created in this manner are automatically mapped to the originating field.
- The Direction property for an interface field is automatically set based on the direction of the originating field as follows:

- Right-click the originating field and select
New Input Field... or
New Output Field... from the popup menu.
- Right-click in the
Interface Fields pane and select
New Interface Field from the popup menu. In this case, a default mapping is not generated for the new interface field. Therefore, be sure to map the new field manually.
