Using the SMS DATACLAS update utility

You can use the SMS DATACLAS update utility to create and modify SMS DATACLAS definitions. The SMS DATACLAS update utility is a batch utility that you execute using JCL, with the MFCMD program.

MFCMD allows you to access SMS maintenance. With the program, you use name/value pairs to supply parameters and corresponding values as

The SMS DATACLAS update utility takes input from SYSUT1 or SYSIN. MFCMD reads data from SYSIN if it is present, or from SYSUT1 if no SYSIN is present. The input consists of a DATACLAS definition identifier, folllowed by the name and value pairs that you want to set. The SMS DATACLAS update utility writes output to SYSPRINT and SYSUT2.

• When using SYSUT1, you include the input as a text file. you can supply one to many records, one DATACLAS per record. The records can be any length up to 4096.
• When using SYSIN, you are limited to 80 byte records and can specify only one DATACLAS with properties that can span multiple lines.
