Mainframe Batch Database Tools (MBDT)

Note: This is a technology preview feature only. It is being made available to allow you to test and provide feedback on this new capability; however, this feature is not intended for production use and it is not supported as such. Furthermore, Micro Focus does not guarantee that this feature will be delivered at a GA level and if it is, then the functionality provided might differ considerably from this technology preview.

MBDT provides basic batch utility support for the following z/OS DB2 utilities:

DSNTEP2
Enables you to create your schema objects in a target DBMS using either the SQLTP232 (32-bit) alias or the SQLTP264 (64-bit) alias.

For SQL Server DBMS targets, use SQLTP232 and SQLTP64 to enable the acceptance of mainframe DB2 syntax for your CREATE SCHEMA statements.

For all other DBMS targets, you must provide SQL syntax acceptable to the DBMS vendor. If your CREATE SCHEMA statements do not use z/OS DB2 syntax, you can substitute specific SQL Server syntax. See MBDT Configuration Utility for details.

DSNUTILB
Enables you to load or unload your data to or from the target DBMS using the SQLUTB32 (32-bit) alias or the SQLUTB64 (64-bit) alias.
Note: We provide MBDT for Windows 32-bit and 64-bit development and deployment environments only. Some additional restrictions apply as specified in these topics:
