Invoking JCL from CICS

There are two widely-used methods of invoking JCL from a CICS application:

  1. Submitting JCL via the Internal Reader
    The internal reader is a logical device similar to a card reader that lets you submit JCL jobs via JES.
  2. Submitting JCL via SSTM and the CICS Spooling Facility
    If you want to use the CICS spooling facility to submit JCL, you need to activate SSTM for your Enterprise Server.
