If you create a mapper file, it must be called mfextmap.dat and it must be located in one of the following places:
Both MFEXTMAP and COBDIR can have multiple paths defined.
If MFEXTMAP is set but the mapper file does not exist in the directory or directories to which it points, the system tries to resolve the filename by searching for an environment variable with the same name as the assigned filename used in the program.
If MFEXTMAP is not set, the system searches for the mapper file in the current directory and then along the COBDIR path. If the mapper file is not found, the system tries to resolve the filename by searching for an environment variable with the same name as the assigned filename used in the program.
