- Phase
1: Add a Break Point
- The program sends output to the console, and we want the application to pause at the point where we can see the output.
- If it isn't already in the program editor, double-click
Program1.cbl from the
COBOL Explorer to call it up into the program editor.
- In the program editor, scroll down to the following statement:
EXEC SQL DISCONNECT CURRENT END-EXEC
- In the gray area to the left of the statement, double click to toggle a break point.
- Save
the
OESQLAssistantTutorial project.
Eclipse automatically rebuilds the project.
- Phase
2: Run the Application

- Press
F11 to start debugging.
- Press either
F5 or
F6 to execute statements until you get to your break point.
- If the console is not visible, minimize
the Eclipse IDE. You should see the console output.
- Press
F5 or
F6 again to complete the debugging process.
