When importing files using the MFDAS IMPORT command line you can use the auto-catalog feature so that imported PDS, QSAM, ESDS, RRDS, and KSDS data sets are automatically added into a catalog.
When using the auto-catalog feature, a number of additional new features are available to give you more control over the import and catalog process. To use the auto-catalog feature you specify the /CATLOC=catalog-file-name argument as part of an MFDAS IMPORT command, where catalog-file-name is the catalog file into which the imported data set should be cataloged.

MFDAS IMPORT c:\mfi01.test.data.txt FROM QSAM mfi01.test.data /CATLOC=c:\proj\catalog.dat
