This section explains the sizing recommendation for deploying Analytics Server.
The following is the minimum hardware requirement for Analytics Server:
For the demonstration purpose:
CPU: 4 Cores
Memory: 6.5 GB
Hard disk: 50 GB
For a production environment:
CPU: 8 Cores
Memory: 24 GB
Hard disk: Depends on the Access Manager login pattern for a day.
The following recommendations consider only those Access Manager Audit events that are required for Analytics Server.
For more information about Analytics Server events, see Enabling Events for Each Graph
in the NetIQ Access Manager 5.0 Administration Guide.
Any change in Access Manager Audit events selection changes the disk requirement.

The following is a graphical presentation of disk space requirement when the number of logins per day are 20,000, 50,000, and 100,000:
The events stored in Analytics Server are retained in the local storage depending on the retention policy configured.
The default retention policy is configured to retain the audit events for 180 days. After 180 days all audit events are purged from Analytics Server. It is recommended to use a secondary storage and configure a retention policy to move the audit events to the secondary storage at frequent intervals.
Analytics Server can plot the real-time graphs for 100 logins per second for 20 minutes duration with the real-time accuracy. Beyond this time, a slight delay occurs in displaying the real-time graphs.
