Previously, SMAX only supported upgrades between two adjacent versions (from version N to version N+1).
With this package, you can now upgrade SMAX from version N to version N+2. This is supported for all deployments with the embedded Kubernetes or a managed Kubernetes. Currently, the supported upgrade path is from version 2021.11 to 2022.11.
With this solution, you can:
- Reduce the total upgrade time.
- Upgrade SMAX every year by running one command.
- Separate the Precheck (Content Validation) from the SMAX upgrade process. Content Validation can be done at any time and is decoupled with the upgrade process.
