Release notes

This release of OO Oracle Cluster Patch Management Content Pack 1.0.1 brings the following changes:

New workflows added

The following new workflows have been added under the Library/Integrations/Oracle/Cluster/Server Automation/Discovery path:

  • Get Database Instance: This flow executes an SA script designed to retrieve the instance of a database based on the provided database name and node name.
  • Get Local Node: This flow executes an SA script that returns the local node of a database instance.
  • Get Oracle Databases: This flow executes an SA script that retrieves the names of Oracle databases hosted on the target server and returns them as a comma-separated list.
  • Get Oracle Home: This flow executes an SA script that retrieves the Oracle and Grid Home path from the target server.
  • Get Oracle Nodes: This flow executes an SA script that retrieves the names of the nodes that are currently part of the Oracle Clusterware cluster.
  • Get Patch Path: This flow executes an SA script designed to retrieve the Oracle patch path based on the provided patchId. If a folder with the patch ID cannot be located, the script will proceed to search for the patch zip file and unzip it if found.

The following new workflows are available under the Library/Integrations/Oracle/Cluster/Server Automation/Patching/Samples path:

  • Deploy Patch with Prerequisites: This flow installs an Oracle patch on the designated server, specified by 'patchId'. This flow works by discovering elements such as Oracle Home, Grid Home, database, instance, and local node name. Subsequently, it proceeds with thorough examinations, assessing system space availability, and confirming the fulfillment of Oracle patch prerequisites. Upon completion of these preparatory steps, the flow closes the instance on the designated server. It then proceeds to execute the patch installation operation while adhering to a rolling patch approach to minimize downtime. Finally, the instance is started.
  • Deploy Patches with Prerequisites: This flow installs the Oracle Patches provided by 'patchesId' on the target servers. The process begins by discovering elements such as Oracle Home, Grid Home, database, instance, and local node name. Subsequently, it proceeds with thorough examinations, assessing system space availability, and confirming the fulfillment of Oracle patch prerequisites. Upon completion of these preparatory steps, the flow closes the instance on each designated server. It then executes the patch installation operation while adhering to a rolling patch approach to minimize downtime. Finally, the instance is restarted. This entire process is repeated for every target server.

Two new workflows have been added to the Utilities folder in the Library/Integrations/Oracle/Cluster/Server Automation path:

  • Check System Space: This flow executes an SA script designed to perform system space prechecks for Oracle patch installation.
  • Oracle Pre Checks: This flow executes an SA script designed to perform prechecks for Oracle patch installation.
