The OPTIC Reporting capability provides you with all the artifacts required for IT infrastructure and event management. It consists of three components - Operations Bridge Reporting content, BVD (Reporting capability of BVD), and OPTIC Data Lake. It consolidates performance metrics, event metrics, application metrics and topology data into tables, graphs, and dashboards. You can represent this data graphically either in BVD or any other business intelligence tool (BYOBI) of your choice.
Operations Bridge Reporter (OBR) customers are evolving to OPTIC Reporting, with various benefits like faster TTV, improved TCO with consolidation of metrics, event, and topology data, cross-domain insight into data, built-in high-availability & resiliency, and more.
This white paper provides an overview about the OPTIC-based reporting for Operations Bridge and how customers can migrate from OBR to OPTIC Reporting. It highlights key differences in certain components, and how to achieve some specific OBR-equivalent functions in OPTIC Reporting. It references out-of-box documentation, where applicable, and consolidates various resources to assist you in your evolution journey. The reader should have a solid understanding of the OBR architecture, and administration aspects. Basic knowledge on the Operations Bridge containerized platform (OPTIC) is highly recommended.
