The Management Pack Development Kit provides the user the capability to author an OMi MP using simple Perl modules and YAML configuration files, without needing to understand the details and complexities of underlying monitoring platform components like OMi or HP OA. The MP DevKit abstracts the HP OA interfaces from the user through simple Perl APIs. This obviates the need to set up or ramp up on OMi and HP OA to develop an OMi MP, significantly simplifying the development effort and enabling anyone with Perl expertise and knowledge of the monitoring domain to develop an OMi MP.
