To format COBOL source code

Within the COBOL editor, you can choose to format entire programs or just a selection of code:

1. Open a source file in the editor.
2. Click Edit > Advanced , and then click one of the following commands:
   • Format COBOL Program - this formats the source file and any dependent copybooks. Select the program and the copybooks which you want to format, then click OK.
   • Format filename - this formats the file currently opened in the editor.
   • Format Selection - formats the selection marked in the editor.

   The IDE formats the code according to the options in Tools > Options > Text Editor > Micro Focus COBOL > Code Style > Formatting.
