To Configure a Security Manager's Environment

Restriction: This topic applies only when the Enterprise Server feature is enabled.

Use this task to configure the environment for a security manager.

Note: When you set this configuration, you can no longer use the Enterprise Server user administration functionality to manage users. You must do this through your normal Microsoft user management interface.
  1. On the Enterprise Server Administration screen, in the left pane, select Security.
  2. Select the Security Managers tab, and in the list of configured security managers, select the one to configure, and click Edit.

    The Configure Security Options screen is displayed.

  3. In the configuration area at the bottom of the screen, add or edit the [LDAP] configuration to add settings you want follows: For example:
    Note: In the example below, the line: user class="user" sets that Enterprise Server uses Microsoft user configurations, and you cannot change these through the Enterprise Server security user interface. Omit this line to configure the default behavior, which is that you can configure user information stored in an LDAP.
