Classic Data File Editor Error Messages

The Classic Data File Editor produces the following errors:

No matching layout
Although layouts are loaded, no layout conditions match the current record.
File locked
You have attempted to open a file that is locked by another user.
Could not save FILENAME insufficient disk space
A save failed because of insufficient disk space.
Drive is read only cannot create file
The drive on which you are attempting to create your file is read-only.
File to save to is write protected
The file you have selected to save to is write protected.
FILENAME is an illegal filename
The filename you have entered uses characters that are illegal in a filename.
Minimum record length cannot be greater than maximum record length
You have attempted to create a file where the minimum record length is greater than the selected maximum record length.
Record layout X matches this record but one or more 'occurs depending on' items are invalid
The current record matches the conditions in layout X, but also contains an OCCURS DEPENDING ON item that specifies a value for the array outside its declared limits.
A record layout file must be loaded before using this window
This window will hold the view of the current record split down into its individual fields. Before this can be done, you need to use the record layout selector to define the record layouts to use.
New record length is less than the minimum record length
The record length specified is less than the minimum allowed for this file.
New record length is greater than the maximum record length
The record length specified is greater than the maximum allowed for this file.
Delete warning is on. Are you sure you wish to delete this record?
The delete warning is enabled; this will prompt you to confirm any delete before proceeding.

You have attempted to rewrite a record when there is insufficient disk space to hold the updated record.

While inserting a record, you have specified a key that is already in use.

The header information for this file is corrupt. Use Rebuild to fix the file before attempting to edit it.

You have attempted to open a file flagged as read-only for editing.
Insufficient disk space to backup file
There is insufficient disk space to create a backup of the data file.
Backup file already exists and is read-only
The file cannot be backed up, as a file with the name to be allocated already exists and is read-only.
Layout is longer than the maximum record length
The layout that matches the current record references fields beyond the maximum record length specified for this file. Any updates to this area will be ignored.
Layout is longer than current record length
The layout that matches the current record references fields beyond the length of the current record.
Layout is shorter than the current record length
The layout that matches the current record does not reference the entire record.
An existing file of this name is currently locked and is preventing the new file being created
The filename specified references a file that is locked. A file of this name cannot be created until the lock is released.
Insufficient disk space to insert new record
There is insufficient disk space to insert any further records.
Maximum record length allowed is %d bytes. Record length specified is too large
You are attempting to create a file with a record length larger than that allowed by the File Handler.
The catalog entry for this file does not contain enough information to open the file. Supply file information details in next dialog
You have attempted to open a data file that has no header and is cataloged. Data File Editor attempted to use the information in the catalog to open the data file but there was insufficient or invalid data in the catalog entry. Information to open the file will be requested in the dialog following this message.
A record with this relative record number already exists
You have attempted to insert a relative record at a relative record number that is already allocated to another record.
