Importing and exporting profiles

You can export any user-created formatter or clean up profiles, and then import them to another workspace on your machine, or a workspace on anther machine.

There are a few restrictions when using the import/export functions:

You cannot export the Micro Focus [built-in] profile that is supplied with Visual COBOL.
You cannot import a profile if another profile of the same name already exists in the current workspace.

To export profiles

On the Window menu, select Preferences.
The Preferences dialog box is displayed.
Select Micro Focus > COBOL > Code Style > Formatter or > Clean Up.
The Formatter or Clean Up pane is displayed.
Click Export User Profiles.
Navigate to the location in which to save, enter a name for the export file, and then click Save.
All profiles in the current workspace, except the Micro Focus [built-in] profile, are exported.

To import profiles

Open the required workspace.
On the Window menu, select Preferences.
The Preferences dialog box is displayed.
Select Micro Focus > COBOL > Code Style > Formatter or > Clean Up.
The Formatter or Clean Up pane is displayed.
Click Import.
The Import Result dialog box displays the results of the import.
Click OK.
You can now select any of the imported profiles from the Active profile field.
