Restriction: This topic applies only when the Enterprise Server feature is enabled.
Once ESDEMO starts successfully, you can try enabling restricted access in MFDS to validate your security configuration there.
Return to your MFDS browser session and:
- On the left-side menu, click on
Security.
- Select the
MF Directory Server tab.
- Check the
Restrict administration access checkbox.
- Click
Apply.
- MFDS will prompt you to supply a username and password that are authorized under the existing security configuration (to authorize
the change to a new security configuration). If you still have the predefined security configuration that's installed with
the product, you can use
schemaadmin here for the username and password.
- MFDS will prompt you to supply a username and password that are authorized under the new security configuration (to prevent
you from locking yourself out). Enter your ES-admin user ID and its password.
- If this works, you'll be sent to the MFDS restricted-functionality home page. Click on
Log On and try your ES-admin ID.
Note: If MFDS is set to
Restrict administration access and the MFDS
Anonymous access option is off (the default), then valid authorized credentials will be required to access information stored in the Directory
Server either via the legacy UI,
ESCWA, or utilities such as mdump.
