Visual COBOL is pre-configured to associate certain file extensions as specific COBOL file types. For example, the following extensions
are recognized as COBOL programs -
.cbl,
.cob,
.eco,
.pco or
.sqb;
.cpy and
.cbl are recognized as copybooks.
To add file associations for other file extensions:
- In the IDE, click
Window > Preferences.
- Choose
General > Content Types.
- In the
Content type pane, expand
Text and click
Micro Focus Project Types.
- Click on any of the types prefixed
COBOL in the list to see which file extensions are associated with that particular type.
- To associate a new extension with any particular type, click
Add, and then specify the
Content type.
- Click
Apply and Close.
