If there are a number of entries displayed in the License Administration tool, these might be either for different products or for the same product but for different serial numbers, for example.
When a commute request is made using the license manager, that request is serviced from a pool of licenses that could be provided by any number of Micro Focus product licenses stored on that server. The commute request cannot target a particular RMS license by product name, serial number, or number of cores.
The products to which you apply the commuter licenses will be licensed correctly but the number of licenses left in the License Administration tool might appear to be less than expected. This issue is more likely to occur with multiple entries for the same product.
If you are using a number of different products, Micro Focus recommends that you use a different licensing server for each product in order to help minimize the issue.
On machines that have SELinux enabled, the SafeNet and MFCESD services are blocked from starting when that machine boots up. Manually starting the services using SystemD (that is: sudo systemctl start MFSafeNet) is also blocked.
This affects both SafeNet and AutoPass licensing. You will see the effects of this if you try to run the licensing tool or when performing a licensable action (e.g. compilation) in the product.
In these circumstances, once the machine has booted, you can start the services manually using the following commands:
SafeNet licensing:
sudo /var/microfocuslicensing/bin/startboth.sh
This runs both startlserv.sh and startmfcesd.sh.
AutoPass licensing:
sudo /var/microfocuslicensing/bin/startmfcesd.sh
After the services are started, licensing remains unaffected by SELinux being enabled.
