Extra options exist for viewing a diagnostic server's console log. These commands are available with any
enterprise server instance, but they are useful only in the context of a diagnostics server with the diagnostic files loaded from the problem server,
copied using the commands described in
Moving the diagnostics data.
To access the diagnostic server's ESMAC screen:
- In the
Enterprise Server Administration screen, click the diagnostic server's
Details button to access the server's Details screen.
- On the Details screen, click the
ES Monitor & Control button to access the diagnostic server's ESMAC screen.
To use these extra options:
- In the left pane in the
Diagnostics area, select the
Log and the
C/x radio buttons (for current), then
Display to view the current console log file, that is, the
console.log file of the diagnostics server.
- In the left pane in the
Diagnostics area, select the
Log and
B radio buttons (for backup), then
Display to view the backup console log of the problem server (console.bak). Note that this works only if you copied the data collection into the diagnostics server after you started it, because the
process of starting it replaces the backup console log from the problem server with the backup console log of the diagnostics
server
- In the left pane in the
Diagnostics area, select the
Log and
A radio buttons (for auxiliary), then
Display to view the console log of the problem server (copied to
console.aux)
