This tutorial walks you through the steps required to compile and package JVM COBOL so that it can be used as a library in
another project.
This tutorial assumes that you have COBOL JVM projects that you want to expose to a Java project in the form of a jar dependency.
Note: All projects discussed in this tutorial are available in the samples folder
%PUBLIC%\Documents\Micro Focus\Visual COBOL\Samples.
Prerequisites
You must install the following:
- Visual COBOL for Eclipse.
- Java JDK 1.8.0, the JDK is used by the specified version of Ant.
- Apache Ant 1.10.2, Apache Ant is used to build Java applications.

To download Apache Ant 1.10.2:
- Click
here, in the left pane click
Binary Distributions.
- Click
apache-ant-1.10.2-bin.zip to download.
- Extract the content of the zip file to a new folder.
