PCT Entry (pct_name)

Use this page to view information about the PCT named pct_name, selected from the PCT (Active) page. You can also change the status of the PCT, and change various parameters of the PCT.

This page mainly provides information about the PCT. To set values for the PCT, use the CICS PCT page.

Click Apply to save changes you have made to the page and refresh the page. This button is displayed only if you have permission to edit the PCT.

PCT

Shows the name of this PCT. If you click Apply, the message "Update complete" is also displayed when the changes you have made to the PCT have been saved and the PCT updated. Click Refresh to remove this message.

Program Name

Shows the program name of a local program to be run when this transaction is invoked.

Status
Shows the current settings that apply to this PCT. You can change any of the settings.
Enabled
Click this to enable the program.
Disabled
Click this to disable the program.
UC Translation

Check this to have the transaction program translate input into upper case.

Screen Default

Click this to have the transaction program use the default screen size (as defined in the Typeterm entry).

Screen Alternate

Click this to have the transaction program use the alternate screen size (as defined in the Typeterm entry).

DTB Backout

Click this to indicate that if a transaction program using intersystem communication abends at a critical moment during syncpoint or abend processing, the effects of the transaction are backed out using ROLLBACK. To use this option, files used by the transaction program must have Backward Recovery checked on the CICS FCT page.

DTB Commit

Click this to indicate that if a transaction program using intersystem communication abends at a critical moment during syncpoint or abend processing, any changes are committed.

DTB Wait

Click this to indicate that if a transaction program using intersystem communication abends at a critical moment during syncpoint or abend processing, critical resources are locked until the session has recovered, and are then backed out or committed in step with the remote system.

Dump on Abend

Check this to indicate that a program dump is to be created if the transaction program abends.

Type

Indicates whether the program is local or remote. If the program is remote, the system and transaction IDs are also displayed.

Transaction
TWA Size
Shows the size of the transaction program's Transaction Working Area (TWA) in bytes.
Input Timeout

The maximum time in seconds allowed for operator response to an explicit CICS RECEIVE, WEB OPEN, WEB SEND, WEB RECEIVE, or WEB CONVERSE command before this transaction is abended. A value of 0 indicates that there is no timeout, and the system will wait indefinitely for a response.

Runaway Timeout

The maximum continuous period of time in seconds that the region will allow a transaction to run without making a CICS, EZASOKET or MQSeries API call. When this time is exceeded, the transaction is abended. A value of 0 indicates that there is no timeout.

Deadlock Timeout

Shows the deadlock timeout used for task processing. This is the period after which a suspended task is terminated. A zero value means that no deadlock timeout is used.

Transaction Threshold

Specify the maximum length of time in seconds that a transaction can run before a message is logged to the console to indicate that it has exceeded its threshold. A value of 0 indicates that there is no threshold.

Tracing

Indicates the type of tracing set for this program. You can also change the type of tracing by clicking one of the buttons:

  • Standard - standard tracing is performed
  • Suppress - no tracing is performed
  • Special - special tracing is performed
Use Count

Shows the number of times this PCT has been used.

Dump Display, Table

Click this to create and view a dump of the DCT.
