Audit Facility Architecture

The Audit Facility is built upon the Micro Focus Consolidated Trace Facility, which uses modules called emitters to output information. Components pass audit events that they generate to an audit event consolidator process. The consolidator process can receive events from one or more components. It interleaves all the events that it receives and outputs them through one or more audit event emitters. This process is illustrated by the figure below:

Each of the rectangles with a solid outline in Figure 1 represents a separate process. The SEPn and MFDS processes output audit events. The audit events are passed to the audit event consolidator process via an IPC mechanism.
