Introduction

A communications process is the component of an enterprise server that handles communications between clients and the enterprise server. It contains a number of service listeners. An enterprise server is created with one communications process, but you can add more. For advice about how many communications processes you need see the section Number of Communications Processes in the chapter Configuration.
