When you click a new component tab in the upper right pane,
StarTeam gives you the option of retaining the folder currently selected from the folder hierarchy or replacing it with the root folder.
Choose
Tools
> Personal Options to open the
Personal Options dialog box.
Select the
Workspace tab.
Do one of the following:
Check
Restore Folder Selection on Tab Change to retain the currently selected folder when the component tab changes.
Uncheck
Restore Folder Selection on Tab Change to select the root folder every time the component tab changes
